Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Emergency Department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of children's care needs and develop individualized care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
  2. Nursing Procedures: Perform a range of nursing procedures and techniques in accordance with established policies and standards.
  3. Communication and Reporting: Effectively communicate with medical and senior nursing staff to report on children's condition and progress.
  4. Confidentiality and Data Protection: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies when handling sensitive information.
  5. Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in paediatric care and treatment to deliver high-quality care.
  6. Departmental Policies: Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  7. Leadership and Management: Demonstrate leadership skills and take charge of the ward in the absence of the Charge Nurse.
  8. Health and Safety: Adhere to Health and Safety policies, including fire procedures and drug administration protocols.
  9. Accident Reporting: Report all accidents and untoward incidents to the Nurse in charge of the ward.
  10. Staff Supervision: Supervise newly appointed qualified staff and provide guidance on procedures as required.
  11. Student Support: Support the work of student nurses and report their progress to the Charge Nurse.
Requirements

We require a Paediatric Nurse with a minimum of 6 months post-registration experience and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, and be committed to delivering high-quality care to children and their families.
