About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team at Royal Mail Group. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a variety of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on light and heavy goods vehicles, using your own personal toolkit and access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve vehicle issues, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to enhance our fleet maintenance operations.

Requirements

  • IMI Level 3 qualified mechanic with a strong background in light or heavy vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Proven experience working on a wide range of vehicles, including LCVs and HGVs.
  • Valid UK driving license, preferably with an HGV license and trailer experience.
  • High working standards, with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating shift pattern, including weekends, with a willingness to support the team as needed.
