Job Description

**Job Title:** Chemical Process Engineer - Nuclear Facilities

**About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Process Engineer to join our team at Assystem Energy & Infrastructure in Derby. As a Chemical Process Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering chemical process engineering work packages that modify or improve current facilities.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver chemical process engineering work packages that modify or improve current facilities.
  • Take projects through the engineering gated review process, from concept to handover to operations.
  • Manage daily stakeholders, including Operations, Commissioning, Project, Procurement, Nuclear Safety, HSE, Radiological and Environmental safety, and engineering SMEs.
  • Write technical documentation.
  • Meet success criteria by delivering engineering work packages in line with stakeholder requirements.

**Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering or Chemical Process Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Proven background in chemical process design.
  • Experience of capital project delivery in a regulated environment.
  • Experience in delivering complicated engineering design projects, from concept to implementation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with stakeholder management experience.

**Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in nuclear facility design.
  • Understanding of the link between nuclear safety case and engineering design.
  • Experience of commissioning and installation of chemical process plants.
  • Experience of handing over projects into operations and background in troubleshooting.

**Security Clearance:** This role requires a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate must be a UK national or in MoD-approved cases, a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
