About the Role:

SRG is seeking an experienced chemist or biochemist to join the development team as a Senior Scientist within an expanding and successful contract manufacturing organization in the pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute experiments and analysis to ensure effective technology transfer and development of fit-for-purpose processes in line with customer requirements.
  • Record and interpret data in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Follow laboratory procedures to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality work.
  • Collaborate with other teams in the business.
  • Troubleshoot scaled-up processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and health and safety regulations.
  • Meet project timelines.
  • Ensure accuracy of raw data and analytical interpretations.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency, cost control, and safety/development performance improvement.
  • Provide experimental support for development projects and assist project leads in data collation for presentation and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Higher degree or degree-level education in Chemistry/Biochemistry with relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in drug development is beneficial.
  • Background knowledge in process development and protein structure and function is beneficial.
  • Protein purification experience, including Tangential Flow Filtration, AKTA, Chromatography, or Filtration, is essential.
  • Background knowledge in protein structure/function.
  • A sound knowledge of protein analytical techniques, including UV/VIS and HPLC techniques.
