We are seeking an Operations Director to join the team and contribute to the company’s ambitious growth trajectory. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in the HGV industry, with a strong technical grasp of manufacturing processes. Proven experience in a managerial role is essential, along with a history of overseeing similar production environments.
The primary responsibilities of the Operations Director will include leading a diverse team of Engineers, Assemblers, Drivers, and Service Controllers, ensuring optimal efficiency to enhance customer satisfaction. Key tasks will involve prioritizing and managing the production schedule, collaborating with senior management, and fostering positive employee relations while inspiring the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the operations of the refrigerated vehicle manufacturing facility.
- Coordinate and prioritize the production schedule effectively.
- Work closely with the Production Director and Production Manager.
- Oversee the preparation and completion of job cards and work orders.
- Engage with vehicle manufacturers, dealers, and clients.
- Report directly to upper management.
- Prepare and organize parts orders efficiently.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for parts procurement.
- Collaborate with the finance department for invoicing related to builds and parts.
- Facilitate onboarding and induction processes for new team members.
- Schedule and manage maintenance for manufacturing equipment.
- Supervise overall maintenance activities within the facility.
Candidate Profile:
- Demonstrated experience in a managerial capacity.
- Background in body building and prior management of a similar production setting is required.
- Strong comprehension of manufacturing processes is essential.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle type approval is advantageous.
