Ecologist Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team at Penguin Recruitment. As an Ecologist, you will play a key role in delivering complex contracts and working closely with clients and their design teams to find solutions to their challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and deliver complex contracts, overseeing and mentoring junior staff, reviewing technical work, and ensuring high-quality report drafting.
- Play a key role in business development by preparing costings, tendering for projects, and identifying opportunities for growth and diversification.
- Conduct protected species surveys, coordinate mitigation projects, advise clients on regulatory requirements, and prepare Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports.
- A relevant degree and 3+ years of professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK and European environmental legislation.
- Proven experience in fieldwork and report writing.
- Full membership (or eligibility) of CIEEM and a full UK driving licence.
- Holding a Natural England protected species licence (e.g., Bat Class 2 or GCN Class 1).
- Experience with Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).
