Job Title: Personal Assistant - Support Worker

Location: Flexible, with a focus on supporting individuals with Autism

Hours of Work:

3 hours per week - term time

16 hours per week - school holidays

Hours are to be used flexibly to meet the needs of the individual

Rate of Pay: £15.00 per hour

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Personal Assistant to support an individual with Autism. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing one-to-one support to enable the individual to participate in daily activities, develop their skills, and enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to the person with Autism, promoting their independence and autonomy
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores
  • Support the individual to engage in leisure activities, such as swimming, walking, and feeding the ducks
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize the individual's anxiety and stress in busy environments
  • Communicate effectively with the individual, using clear and simple language to ensure their needs are met

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with Autism or similar disabilities
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a sensitive environment
