Electrical Design and Field Service Engineer

CNC Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Electrical Design and Field Service Engineer to join our client in the Wincanton area - a well-respected engineering manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to the Sales Office and Sales Managers.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure stock and bespoke items are designed correctly, priced competitively, drawings are prepared accurately, and the drawing register is maintained effectively.
  • Prepare quotations and technical drawings, e.g., wiring schematics using AutoCAD.
  • Configure and test equipment before it leaves the workshop.
  • Maintain the design and test database by logging all product designs and test data accurately.
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and external customers.
  • Check and approve drawings for production.
  • Provide drawings to link to stock items where those do not exist.
  • Update old drawings and up-issue drawing numbers.
  • Be available for problem-solving, including on-site visits.
  • Support the business in new product designs (NPD).
  • Create and update CAD blocks for shared library.
Field Service Engineer (CMS and PQ)
  • Undertake site surveys and prepare reports prior to installation or as part of fault finding.
  • Provide toolbox and system training for customers.
  • Undertake fault finding and electrical/mechanical repairs to CEL manufactured equipment.
  • Provide fault finding training to customer teams.
  • Adhere to all health and safety site procedures.
  • Produce necessary risk assessments and method statements.
Personal Specification:
  • Electrical Qualification.
  • Knowledge of a computer design package.
  • Control Panel design/component selection experience.
  • Experience of working independently on site.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Able to travel and work away from home occasionally.
  • Willingness to work flexibly (e.g., take on Production work/support sales).
