About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stroke Medicine Specialist to join our team at Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Stroke team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all stroke patients receive the highest possible level of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the daily TIA service, ensuring robust protocols for patient transfer and referral pathways with local GPs.
  • Work with nursing and therapy colleagues to ensure the stroke unit has sufficient capacity to accommodate all suitable stroke patients on admission.
  • Collaborate with the local Hyper Acute Stroke Centre to ensure seamless transfer of patients following hyperacute treatments and/or stabilization.
Requirements
  • CCST in Stroke Medicine and Higher Degree (MSc, MD or PhD).
  • Experience in emergency or critical care medicine and ability to practice independently in Acute Medicine and Stroke.
  • Familiarity with current health service structure and conversant with recent initiatives and changes.
  • Understanding of the importance of good clinical coding and knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks.
