Senior Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Rolls-Royce SMR. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering industry-leading electrical systems for our new type of nuclear power station.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise across the lifecycle of electrical systems for the SMR nuclear power plant.
  • Deliver the complete design of electrical systems, including system architecture, sub-system design, and equipment specification and design/selection.
  • Work closely with engineering teams from across the power station and apply a structured systems engineering approach to design.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience within the nuclear industry is desirable, but a proven record of working across the electrical system lifecycle in a regulated industry (e.g. nuclear, defence, aerospace, rail, automotive, oil & gas) would be beneficial.
  • Hold a degree-level qualification in electrical engineering or a related subject.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary between £48,000 to £62,500.
  • A performance-related bonus of up to 12.5%.
  • A benefits allowance of £2,200, enabling you to create a bespoke package.
  • A pension scheme with 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
  • 28 days holiday plus public holidays and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
  • Private medical insurance and life assurance.
