About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Education Specialist to join our Children's Therapies Team in East Kent. The successful candidate will have experience supporting school-age children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and will work closely with our School Years Clinical Lead SLT to develop the new mainstream service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist teaching expertise and advice to improve the quality of teaching and learning for children with SLCN within a therapies setting.
  • Work with the wider SLT team to improve practitioners' capacity to raise achievement and attainment of children and overcome the barriers to learning of children with SLCN.
  • Develop effective partnerships to achieve practical outcomes across organisational boundaries, including statutory organisations, external agencies, community and voluntary organisations.
Requirements
  • Education related degree and evidence of relevant postgraduate development at Level 6.
  • Evidence of Postgraduate Specialist qualifications relevant to the area of practice, such as PTLLS/DTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in the area of practice, supporting others (mentor/educator/supervisor) experience.
  • Expert knowledge of the National Curriculum, SEND Code of Practice and the Mainstream Core Standards guidance and their application within education services.
