Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Coordination
    • Collaborate closely with Production Team Leaders and Managers to achieve operational targets.
    • Supervise and coordinate engineering support team activities to ensure timely completion of all allocated work.
    • Plan and allocate resources efficiently to meet deadlines and promote safe working practices.
    • Achieve team KPIs for equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance.
  • Technical Expertise and Development
    • Coach engineers and machine minders on safe practices and fault resolution to drive continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility.
    • Quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and basic control issues to ensure high-quality engineering services.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis to identify areas for improvement in production environment, equipment, and systems.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance
    • Audit monitoring systems to ensure compliance with company procedures and legislation to maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
    • Implement corrective actions as needed to support plant KPIs related to Safety, Quality, People, Delivery, and Cost standards.
Requirements
  • Level 3 City & Guilds/BTEC/ONC in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working to KPIs in an FMCG setting.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in People Management activities.
  • Proven expertise in electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Level 2 Food Safety Certification.
  • Experience with Improvement Strategy and Risk Analysis assessments.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles and ability to operate to safe and approved procedures.
  • IPAF or equivalent training.
  • IEE wiring regulations (current edition).
  • Competent IT skills, in particular with Microsoft Office.
Desired Skills
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Understanding of cost and budget management.
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency practices in industrial settings.
  • MHE and/or PPT Licence.
  • Level 3 Food Safety Certification.
