Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Minor Illness Practitioner to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a GP or other clinical setting, with a strong aptitude for working within a primary care team.
Main Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients, including same-day triage via phone and in-person
- Manage a patient list daily
- Cover triage on designated days
- Provide treatment, including prescribing medications, or make necessary referrals
- Manage undifferentiated undiagnosed conditions
- Identify red flags and underlying serious pathology, taking appropriate action
- Use complex decision-making to inform diagnosis, investigation, and complete management of care
- Work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team
- Complete relevant training
- Advise patients on general healthcare and promote self-management
Requirements
- Experience in a GP or other clinical setting, with a strong aptitude for working within a primary care team
- Ability to perform investigatory procedures, collect pathological specimens, and interpret ECGs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant qualifications, as determined by the ARRS criteria
