Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Minor Illness Practitioner to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a GP or other clinical setting, with a strong aptitude for working within a primary care team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assess and triage patients, including same-day triage via phone and in-person
  • Manage a patient list daily
  • Cover triage on designated days
  • Provide treatment, including prescribing medications, or make necessary referrals
  • Manage undifferentiated undiagnosed conditions
  • Identify red flags and underlying serious pathology, taking appropriate action
  • Use complex decision-making to inform diagnosis, investigation, and complete management of care
  • Work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team
  • Complete relevant training
  • Advise patients on general healthcare and promote self-management

Requirements

  • Experience in a GP or other clinical setting, with a strong aptitude for working within a primary care team
  • Ability to perform investigatory procedures, collect pathological specimens, and interpret ECGs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Relevant qualifications, as determined by the ARRS criteria
