Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with challenging behaviour in a variety of schools in Winchester.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers and pupils in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and implement behaviour support plans to promote positive behaviour and reduce challenging behaviour
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to ensure effective support for pupils
  • Provide individualised support to pupils with challenging behaviour, including behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement behaviour support strategies

Requirements:

  • Resilient and committed individual with a positive attitude to supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Ability to work effectively in environments with challenging behaviour
  • Passion and desire to work with students who have additional needs
  • Availability to work 5 days per week
  • Desirable experience in SEMH/PRU settings, Youth Work, Police or Army, Sports coaches and mentors, or Graduates in Sport, Psychology, Drama and Counselling and Therapy
