Job Title: SEN Classroom Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Classroom Teacher to join our team at a Special School in Chigwell. This full-time role offers a temporary to permanent contract and is perfect for an individual who is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

About the Role:

As a SEN Classroom Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging lessons that are tailored to meet the individual needs of each student. You will work closely with support staff to ensure that students receive both the academic and emotional support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver lessons that are engaging and tailored to the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants to create a supportive and structured learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Support students in both their academic and social development.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each student.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience teaching in a special school setting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and behaviour management.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
