Job Title: Locum Consultant in ENT

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ENT Specialist to join our team as a Locum Consultant in ENT. The successful candidate will have a special interest in Otology and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a multi-disciplinary team, and contributing to the development of our ENT department.

About the Role

The key duties and responsibilities of the post will be:

  • Providing cover as an ENT surgeon with a special interest in Otology
  • Playing an active part in education programmes for junior medical staff, including formal teaching sessions and clinical audits relevant to the needs of the unit
  • Teaching and training staff in other medical disciplines, nursing, and support staff as appropriate
  • Issuing advice to GPs on the suitability of patients for referral to hospital
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice
  • Adequate specialist training in ENT surgery
  • At least 5 years at HST level (or equivalent)
  • Experience of postgraduate and undergraduate teaching
  • Evidence of work submitted for Peer review
  • Evidence of having undertaken audit work that has brought about change
  • Evidence of having undertaken original research
  • Management training and experience
  • Ability to lead and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to organise and manage outpatient priorities and waiting times/lists
