Electrical Engineer (Solar) Job Description

Red Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (Solar) to join our client, a leading company in the UK solar industry. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing distributed rooftop solar PV asset portfolios and will be responsible for conducting reactive and scheduled preventative maintenance visits, system testing, and fault diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting site visits to ensure compliance with health and safety protocols and legislative requirements
  • Supporting the 'back-office' function in technical matters, including system design and installed equipment
  • Reacting to best practice and legislative changes by supporting updates to standardised operating protocols
  • Ensuring personal and site health and safety procedures are always followed

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
  • Safe Isolation and 2391 qualifications
  • Proven technical understanding of Commercial (to 1MW) and domestic rooftop Solar PV
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to use technology
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel for appointments
