Position Summary:
The role of Product Development Engineer encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, focusing on product testing, value engineering, and the design and assessment of both new and existing products. This position will concentrate on the Network Solutions segment, specifically dealing with ducts, access chambers, covers, and other related products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct development, testing, and design initiatives aligned with New Product Development (NPD) goals.
- Create high-quality CAD drawings that meet established standards.
- Perform thorough product testing and evaluations, producing detailed and accurate test reports.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to adhere to project briefs and develop effective project plans.
- Engage with the quality assurance department regarding product certification and testing protocols.
- Maintain comprehensive records throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2008 standards within the department.
- Demonstrate a proven track record in managing design projects.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD design software (e.g., Solidworks or similar).
- Experience in process planning and enhancement.
- Familiarity with SMC and/or DMC materials.
- Experience in designing access chambers and their covers, including various types of materials.
- Knowledge of structural Finite Element Analysis is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Exposure to BIM software (e.g., Revit or similar) is a plus.
- Experience in designing with steel, cast iron, composites, and plastics is beneficial but not essential.
