Sous Chef Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations related to the preparation and cooking of menu offerings, ensuring each dish meets the highest standards in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to propose innovative seasonal menu items that reflect the restaurant's dedication to quality and local sourcing.
  • Manage a specific section of the kitchen, taking responsibility for all aspects from preparation to cooking and presentation.
  • Maintain Standards: Ensure rigorous hygiene and cleanliness standards are upheld in the kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in managing kitchen inventory by ensuring supplies are adequately stocked and stored appropriately.
  • Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff as needed.

Sous Chef Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A strong passion for enhancing culinary skills and expanding knowledge of diverse cuisines.
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a comparable environment, showcasing competence and familiarity with high-caliber culinary operations.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring every dish aligns with the exacting standards of quality and presentation.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating enthusiasm and a collaborative spirit in a bustling kitchen environment.
  • Capable of confidently overseeing a kitchen section, guiding junior staff, and maintaining workflow during busy periods.
  • A proactive approach to all tasks, whether creating dishes or performing routine kitchen responsibilities.
