We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of the month-end management accounts.
The successful candidate will have a defined set of responsibilities across both the profit & loss account and the balance sheet, and will be responsible for producing and presenting monthly results to senior leadership within the financial accounts team.
This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract to cover a period of maternity, providing an excellent opportunity for someone to gain valuable experience and skills in a fast-paced Finance environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparation of month end schedules, accruals and prepayments for head office cost centres, ensuring that month end deadlines are met.
- Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring balances are understood and queries rectified in a timely manner.
- Drive efficiency of financial process via continuous improvement and identification of potential opportunities.
- Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of reports used by stakeholders across the business, assisting with cost control and driving company performance.
- Production of Office of National Statistics submissions and other external surveys.
- Assist with the completion of VAT and Corporation Tax returns, ensuring external submission deadlines are met.
- Approve purchase orders in line with company policy, ensuring accurate coding and meaningful descriptions are provided by the requisitioner.
- Ad hoc support of other tasks, such as audit.
- Advantageous but not essential to be part qualified ACCA/CIMA.
- Ideally have worked with Oracle before.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
- Advanced excel skills.
- The ability to provide real added value, insight, and interpretation into the numbers you are reporting.
- Be able to articulate the recipient of reports and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to build strong relationships with other Finance team members and stakeholders.
- An understanding and empathy for the challenges of front-line operations, providing assistance and support to the benefit of the business.
