The Role

As a Majestic Trainee Manager, you will embark on a 12-month development program that will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of operational, service, and leadership standards expected to become a future Majestic Store Manager. You will work closely with your Store Manager to develop your skills and knowledge, setting you up for future success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Store Performance
    • Maximize sales opportunities by identifying and capitalizing on customer needs.
    • Optimize KPI performance in store by setting goals and developing plans to improve and exceed targets.
  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service
    • Provide market-leading customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
    • Offer a VIP concierge service to customers, actively contacting them with updates on products and tastings.
  • Sell the Story, Not the Discount
    • Demonstrate and share your passion for product with customers through in-depth knowledge of the range.
    • Manage a tasting events program and execute an enticing and commercially savvy tasting counter.
  • Take Ownership of Your Wine Knowledge
    • Constantly learn about products to support your WSET qualification and confidence in selling.
  • Take Accountability for Store Appearance and Maintenance
    • Ensure the physical appearance and maintenance of the store are of the highest standard, both internally and externally.
  • Involvement in Operational Tasks
    • Establish a thorough understanding of the day-to-day operations of running a Majestic Wine store, including delivering wine to customers, merchandising stock deliveries, and calling valued customers to drive sales opportunities.
  • Continuously Identify Opportunities for Improvement
    • Optimize the operational running of the store by identifying and implementing improvements.
  • Ensure Compliance, Safety, and Legality
    • Follow internal policies, processes, and complete mandatory training to ensure compliance, safety, and legality.
  • Take Ownership of Your Development
    • Utilize the support and resources available to develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Be an Example of Majestic's Ways of Working
    • Be a source of support for more junior team members and feed back to your Store Manager as appropriate.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Experience working as part of a team in a fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environment.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service to every single customer.
  • Prioritize and strategically problem-solve in high-pressure environments.
  • Self-motivated, able to thrive when working alone and as part of a team.
  • Can-do attitude with a passion for seeing problems through to solutions.
  • Adaptable and resilient to meet the ever-changing demands of the business.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Wine knowledge is beneficial, but passion to learn more is essential to pass level 2 and 3 WSET wine qualifications.
  • Hold a full UK/EU/EEA driving license for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
