Position Summary

Fugro presents an exciting opportunity within our Marine Site Characterisation (MSC) Team for a Temporary position as a Cost Controller. This role is intended to cover a maternity leave.

In this essential position, you will oversee financial operations and provide analytical support to the MSC Business line, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and project-specific guidelines.

Your contributions will be pivotal in facilitating the smooth, safe, and effective execution of our projects. You will have the opportunity to influence the team's operational strategies and enhance our processes. In this capacity, you will be responsible for delivering precise financial data to all relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial management of MSC projects, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting to Service Line Management.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting tasks related to the Service Line.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of all financial transactions associated with the Service Line.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the Service Line Management Team and other key stakeholders.
  • Support the Project Management Team in fostering a robust project management and control culture.
  • Lead the monthly project reporting and review processes in collaboration with Project Managers.
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of CAPEX and Working Capital management.
  • Ensure compliance with Revenue Recognition procedures as per Fugro policies.
  • Monitor the accuracy and maintenance of manpower and equipment rates, adhering to Fugro's Standard Business Processes.
  • Provide additional support as required by the MSC Business Controller, MSC Regional Business Controller, or the Service Line Management Team.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in a relevant field or equivalent vocational qualifications and experience.
  • Preferred: Accounting Qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS).
  • Proficient in PC applications, especially Excel.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and well-developed analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet project and month-end deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to achieving defined objectives.
  • Flexible and adaptable in work style.
