Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team at Tarmac as a Foreperson Road Planing. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing and supervising the day-to-day activities of our planing operations, ensuring that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Manage and supervise the planing operations, ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures and safety protocols.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of operatives and sub-contractors, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are equipped to carry out their duties safely and effectively.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all safety requirements are met, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the implementation of safety procedures.
  • Environmental Management: Ensure that all environmental processes and best practices are followed, minimizing the impact of our operations on the environment.
  • Training and Development: Identify and develop the skills and abilities of team members, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their performance and career prospects.
Requirements
  • Essential Qualifications: CSCS qualification, NVQ level 2 in a related discipline, and a full UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • Desirable Skills: Knowledge of planing machine capabilities, experience of working on highways planing projects, and the ability to contribute to the operation.
