Mathematics Education Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mathematics Education Specialist to contribute to improving maths education for students in secondary schools and colleges in England.

About the Role
  • Develop and deliver resources, services, and activities to enhance mathematics education for students in secondary schools and colleges in England.
  • Oversee the development of resources for the Core Maths Platform, ensuring they meet the needs of students and teachers and the requirements of the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme.
  • Contribute to the planning, development, and delivery of professional development for teachers of GCSE Mathematics resit and Functional Skills Maths.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver professional development and information sessions in relation to Core Maths Platform resources.
  • Contribute to the planning, development, and delivery of professional development for teachers of GCSE resit mathematics, Functional Skills, and for vocational contexts.
  • Liaise with associates and stakeholders involved in MEI's work, to support understanding of the services offered by MEI and promote them effectively.
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of current developments in mathematics education policy, research, and practice relevant to your role.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
  • 3+ years direct experience of teaching at least one of GCSE resit and Functional Skills Mathematics.
  • A strong understanding of Core Maths qualifications and their content.
  • An education expert with deep subject knowledge and experience of implementing pedagogical best practice.
