Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MHE Supervisor to join our team at DP World. This role will be responsible for overseeing the training and reporting of our FLT driver workforce, ensuring compliance with our program and timescales, and promoting safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement training programs for FLT drivers, ensuring they meet operational requirements and adhere to legislation and company policy.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of MHE equipment and report any issues or concerns to the Operations Manager and Health and Safety Manager.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to FLT drivers on safe working practices, manual handling, and mechanical handling techniques.
  • Analyse and report on MHE driver audit data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Health and Safety Manager to develop and implement effective training programs and safety protocols.
  • Investigate and report on any accidents or near misses involving MHE equipment, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure all MHE drivers comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Organize and maintain a safe and efficient work environment, including the facility or warehouse and work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Health and Safety Manager.
Requirements
  • A sound knowledge of manual handling techniques to assessor level is essential.
  • RTITB Lift Truck Instructor qualification is essential.
  • Pivot Truck experience is essential.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative, working to strict deadlines.
  • A flexible approach to teamwork is essential.
  • Knowledge of health and safety and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to communicate and deal with a variety of people.
  • Investigation experience advantageous.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Experience of writing training packages desirable.
