An exciting opportunity has arisen to contribute to the Medical Typing Pool at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, providing comprehensive typing support to medical and surgical specialties.
Main Responsibilities- Accurately type letters to patients, GPs, medical staff, and other required addressees following clinic attendance and patient contacts.
- Proofread electronic system-generated letters to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
- Highlight investigations, outpatient appointments, and pending results that require action from the Specialty Admin Teams.
- Utilize the patient administration system to update and extract patient information on a daily basis.
- Perform routine office duties, including scanning documents to Evolve, photocopying, and maintaining records.
- Be adaptable and versatile in a fast-paced team environment, working independently and taking initiative when required.

Person SpecificationEssential Criteria
- RSA II or equivalent experience.
- Accurate audio typing in an office environment.
- Computer literacy in MS Word.
- Flexible team worker.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Understanding of hospital environment.
- Understanding/experience of medical terminology.
- Previous secretarial experience.
- NVQ 3 qualification.
