About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEND Learning Assistant to join our secondary team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding support to teachers and students to ensure that students with SEND learn effectively and make outstanding progress.
  • Establish successful learning relationships with a variety of children, including those with SEND.
  • Work with children in small groups and on a 1 to 1 basis to provide tailored support.
  • Support students in maintaining excellent behaviour both in lessons and around the academy site.
  • Plan and facilitate behaviour management programmes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of establishing successful learning relationships with a variety of children, including those with SEND.
  • Experience of working with children in small groups and on a 1 to 1 basis.
  • Understanding of the strategies needed to establish consistently high aspirations and standards of results and behaviour in an urban school setting.
  • Approachable, highly organised and flexible, with excellent communication and ICT skills.
