Job Summary:

Irwin & Colton is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Director to lead our organization's health, safety, and environmental initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with UK legislation and implementing a health, safety, and environmental strategy that aligns with our company's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive health, safety, and environmental strategy that meets UK legislation and company goals.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Engage with staff across the organization to drive improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.
  • Audit and investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, operational staff, and external regulators.
  • Lead new initiatives and identify opportunities to improve health, safety, and environmental performance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally with a background in heavy industrial, manufacturing, FMCG, or related industries.
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum.
  • Excellent communication skills with proven experience engaging colleagues and a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong technical knowledge across relevant health, safety, and environmental areas.
