About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Young's, a leading hospitality company. As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen operations
  • Lead and develop a team of kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of service and food quality
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and stock control
  • Implement health and safety protocols, ensuring a clean and safe working environment
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to design and deliver new dishes and menus
  • Monitor kitchen performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring high-quality ingredients and competitive pricing

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a passion for producing high-quality food
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering, and stock control
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to achieve common goals
