Job Title: Plumber / Pipe Fitter

Major Recruitment Castle Donington is seeking an experienced Plumber / Pipe Fitter to join our team in Derby. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing plumbing and pipefitting tasks assigned by the works manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate installation of piping systems.
  • Solder copper pipe from 15mm to 35mm and work with PVC plastic pipe to assemble and install piping systems according to specifications.
  • Inspect and test installed pipe systems for leaks or malfunctions and collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Inspect materials, equipment, and tools and maintain supplies, equipment, and tools to ensure optimal performance.
  • Prepare working materials by clamping, cutting, or applying chemical solutions to piping and examine completed installations to ensure they are free of defects, smooth, and functional.
  • Observe safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • Trade school diploma or completed apprenticeship in plumbing or pipefitting.
  • Experience as a plumber / pipe fitter with competency in working with hand tools such as wrenches and pipe cutters.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and strong attention to detail with excellent technical skills and the ability to interpret schematics and spool drawings.
  • Good communication skills and physical dexterity.
Working Hours:

Monday - Friday, 06:30-16:00, with 06:30-12:30 on Fridays. Competitive rate DOE, temp-perm after 12 weeks.
