The role of a Pharmacy Support Specialist is a key position within our organization, requiring a high level of technical expertise and autonomy. As a member of the Prescribing Support Team, you will assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians by undertaking routine tasks and working independently. This will involve discussing medication use with patients over the phone, as well as coordinating the collection of information, analyzing data, and updating clinical records.
The successful candidate will be primarily based within our Northeast Pharmacy Hub, supporting the delivery of the pharmacotherapy service as part of the GP contract. Additionally, you will work with GPs, primary care multidisciplinary teams, and care homes to improve medicines management and deliver excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the collection of information and input data into clinical records
- Analyze data to support quality medication reviews and cost efficiency programs
- Collaborate with GPs and primary care teams to improve medicines management
- Work independently to undertake routine tasks and provide support to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
Requirements:
- High level of technical expertise and autonomy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
