Job Summary

The Specialist Instructor (Lifeguard) is a key role within our team, responsible for ensuring the welfare and safety of children on camp. This position requires a qualified lifeguard with excellent communication and leadership skills, who can deliver high-quality activities and provide exceptional care to our young guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lifeguarding duties during swimming sessions, ensuring the safety of children of all ages.
  • Delivering engaging and participatory activities for children aged 4-14, including sports, arts, and crafts.
  • Providing pastoral care and support to children, acting as a group leader and liaison with parents and camp management as needed.
  • Supervising and engaging with children outside of activity times, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Ensuring adherence to all health and safety, and safeguarding procedures on camp.
  • Representing the Ultimate Activity Camps brand, embodying our values of 'Inspiring Children Every Day'.

Requirements

  • Qualified lifeguard (NARS or NPLQ) with a minimum depth in line with the facilities at the camp.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead groups of children and adapt to dynamic situations.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to work as part of a team, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Desirable: relevant qualifications in childcare, education, sports, or art, with experience of working with children and delivering activities.
