The Role :

As a Meetings and Events Operations Coordinator, you will oversee the operations of meetings and events to ensure an exceptional experience for guests and members. You will also be responsible for delegating tasks according to function sheets and assisting in achieving departmental objectives. Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Experience
    • A minimum of two years of experience in a hotel meetings and events department.
    • Prior experience in coordinating with meetings and events organizers/clients.
    • Experience in food service while adhering to food safety and allergen regulations.
    Skills

    • Proficient in effectively delegating tasks to team members.

    Duties
    • Overseeing the setup and breakdown of large-scale conferences, dinners, and events.
    • Managing the setup and breakdown of smaller meeting and conference rooms.
    • Serving as the primary contact for conference and event organizers.
    • Handling and resolving customer and client complaints.
    • Taking charge of smaller-scale conferences, dinners, and events in the absence of senior management.
    • Supervising team members regarding performance, presentation, and punctuality.
    • Availability to work a mix of early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Adhering to hotel security, fire regulations, and all health and safety legislation
  • Complying with local licensing laws
  • Being environmentally conscious
  • Assisting other departments as needed and maintaining positive working relationships
