Job Title: Youth Mental Health Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at a primary school in South Gloucestershire. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, helping them to develop their academic and emotional skills.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Build strong relationships with students, establishing trust and rapport to promote positive behavior and academic progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to support student learning and well-being.
  • Monitor and record student progress, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating successes.
Requirements:
  • A genuine passion for helping students with SEMH needs achieve their full potential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to the unique needs of each student.
