We are thrilled to present a remarkable opportunity with one of our esteemed financial services partners. We are in search of a highly proficient and seasoned Senior Sanctions Compliance Manager to assist the Director of Sanctions in the compliance initiatives of the Business Unit. The Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in the development, execution, and maintenance of comprehensive sanctions programs, ensuring adherence to both international and national sanctions regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director in formulating and implementing the organization's sanctions compliance strategy, policies, and procedures.
- Influence and inspire the sanctions compliance team, providing mentorship and guidance to foster a positive working environment.
- Act as the representative for the sanctions compliance team at Governance forums in the absence of the Director.
- Ensure adherence to international and national sanctions regulations, including those from the UK, OFAC, EU, UN, and other relevant bodies.
- Regularly assess the organization's exposure to sanctions risk and devise effective mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate the potential implications of sanctions on the organization's operations, products, and services, integrating sanctions risk into the Group's Risk assessment and monitoring framework.
- Continuously monitor global geopolitical developments and sanctions updates to refine the compliance strategy.
- Design and deliver training programs on sanctions compliance to enhance employee understanding of regulations and policies.
- Support the Director in promoting a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
- Provide expert guidance on sanctions screening processes to ensure accurate identification and ongoing monitoring of restricted entities and individuals.
- Conduct enhanced due diligence and analyze complex organizational structures for new and existing clients, partners, and suppliers.
- Assist in investigations of potential sanctions violations and collaborate with legal and regulatory affairs as necessary.
- Prepare and submit mandatory reports to regulatory authorities as required.
- Serve as the primary contact for sanctions-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate updates on sanctions and compliance expectations to employees, clients, and partners.
- Support routine audits and assessments to ensure the effectiveness of the sanctions compliance program.
- Stay updated on changes in sanctions regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends.
- Proactively suggest improvements to the sanctions compliance program.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A degree or equivalent experience/professional qualification.
- Extensive experience in a Sanction Advisory/Screening role is essential.
- Able to navigate effectively within a complex, driven environment.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting enhanced due diligence and reviewing complex sanctions name screening for global organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements impacting the organization.
- Leadership experience as a financial crime sanctions subject matter expert as relevant to the role.
