Company Overview
We are thrilled to present a remarkable opportunity with one of our esteemed financial services partners. We are in search of a highly proficient and seasoned Senior Sanctions Compliance Manager to assist the Director of Sanctions in the compliance initiatives of the Business Unit. The Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in the development, execution, and maintenance of comprehensive sanctions programs, ensuring adherence to both international and national sanctions regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Director in formulating and implementing the organization's sanctions compliance strategy, policies, and procedures.
  2. Influence and inspire the sanctions compliance team, providing mentorship and guidance to foster a positive working environment.
  3. Act as the representative for the sanctions compliance team at Governance forums in the absence of the Director.
  4. Ensure adherence to international and national sanctions regulations, including those from the UK, OFAC, EU, UN, and other relevant bodies.
  5. Regularly assess the organization's exposure to sanctions risk and devise effective mitigation strategies.
  6. Evaluate the potential implications of sanctions on the organization's operations, products, and services, integrating sanctions risk into the Group's Risk assessment and monitoring framework.
  7. Continuously monitor global geopolitical developments and sanctions updates to refine the compliance strategy.
  8. Design and deliver training programs on sanctions compliance to enhance employee understanding of regulations and policies.
  9. Support the Director in promoting a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
  10. Provide expert guidance on sanctions screening processes to ensure accurate identification and ongoing monitoring of restricted entities and individuals.
  11. Conduct enhanced due diligence and analyze complex organizational structures for new and existing clients, partners, and suppliers.
  12. Assist in investigations of potential sanctions violations and collaborate with legal and regulatory affairs as necessary.
  13. Prepare and submit mandatory reports to regulatory authorities as required.
  14. Serve as the primary contact for sanctions-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  15. Communicate updates on sanctions and compliance expectations to employees, clients, and partners.
  16. Support routine audits and assessments to ensure the effectiveness of the sanctions compliance program.
  17. Stay updated on changes in sanctions regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends.
  18. Proactively suggest improvements to the sanctions compliance program.


Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  1. A degree or equivalent experience/professional qualification.
  2. Extensive experience in a Sanction Advisory/Screening role is essential.
  3. Able to navigate effectively within a complex, driven environment.
  4. Demonstrated experience in conducting enhanced due diligence and reviewing complex sanctions name screening for global organizations.
  5. In-depth knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements impacting the organization.
  6. Leadership experience as a financial crime sanctions subject matter expert as relevant to the role.
