Senior Cost Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Commercial Director to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cost management services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as the primary client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met through the delivery of a value-added cost management service.
- Manage commissioning activities, including conducting feasibility studies, writing procurement reports, and applying value management techniques.
- Oversee estimating and cost planning activities, including taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
- Lead the procurement process, ensuring effective pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection, and contract preparation.
- Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients.
- Interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages, and lead a cost management team where necessary.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, and products, and implement changes to enhance the service provided to clients.
- Manage staff, including inputting into formal management processes, conducting 2nd-round recruitment interviews, and attending junior staff appraisals.
- Contribute to knowledge management and share best practices with the team.
- Proven experience in cost and commercial management, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality services to clients.
- Experience of working on major rail projects, with a deep understanding of the infrastructure sector.
- Post-contract administration experience, including final account negotiation and agreement.
- Experience of working on major programmes and projects, with a strong understanding of project management principles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
