Nursery Deputy Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to join our team at TeacherActive. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery and covering when the Manager is absent.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery and cover when the Manager is absent
  • Be a Room Leader for one of the Nursery age groups
  • Provide children with a safe, secure, and stimulating environment
  • Develop and implement a stimulating and varied programme of play and learning opportunities in line with the EYFS framework
  • Help manage the team effectively, agree and set team goals, and monitor the achievement of progress against targets
  • Fulfil legal and statutory requirements and supervise staff on a daily basis
  • Monitor and assess the quality of provision, ensuring that policies and procedures, best practice, and standards are maintained
  • Communicate and liaise with parents/carers professionally
Requirements:
  • Minimum Level 3 Childcare qualification or above (such as NVQ Level 3 in CCLD, Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People's Workforce), or equivalent qualification
  • At least 2 years Nursery work experience
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Good knowledge and understanding of CIWW, policies, and regulations
  • Ability to work well within a team as well as using own initiative
  • Good communication skills
