Job Title: Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant to join our Harmony Trust Development Team Inclusion Service.

The successful candidate will work as part of the Inclusion Service team, providing support to children with complex individual SEND needs in a Teaching Assistant capacity. They will have experience of working with children in the 2-6 year old age range, including knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework.

The ideal candidate will have an NVQ3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification, as well as specialist training or experience in a key area of Special Educational Needs. They will be able to understand and develop the appropriate interventions that enable children to meet their EHC outcomes or personal targets.

The successful candidate will also have the ability to provide coaching and development to staff, work in partnership with teaching staff and other professionals, and support an outreach provision offer within the academy's mainstream provision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to children with complex individual SEND needs in a Teaching Assistant capacity

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children in an educational setting who have complex individual SEND needs

  • Good understanding of safeguarding issues
