We are seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team as a Fabric Operative at HMP Cookham Wood. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the maintenance and repair of prison facilities, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks.
- Work alongside experienced colleagues to provide a safe and secure environment for prisoners and staff.
- Contribute to the upkeep of the prison's building fabric, including cleaning and minor repairs.
- Support the facilities management team in maintaining a high level of service delivery.
- Experience of working in a prison environment or a similar setting.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Previous experience of working within a building fabric or hard FM environment.
- Up-to-date First Aid at Work qualification.
- Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
- Good Health and Safety knowledge.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills.
