Job Opportunity: Finance Business Partner
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Finance Business Partner. This exciting opportunity will involve leading and managing a section of the corporate Finance function, providing professional financial management support to a designated Directorate Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a section of the corporate Finance function, providing professional leadership and guidance.
- Strategic Influence: Lead a centre of expertise across the Council, using your insights to support and influence both strategic and operational decision making.
- Directorate Support: Provide professional guidance to a designated Directorate, advising on critical business planning assumptions, helping navigate trade-offs, identifying opportunities, and acting as an account manager for end-to-end financial services.
- Ambassador for the Finance Function: Drive delivery of finance initiatives, gaining acceptance from key stakeholders, and building strong relationships.

We are looking for people who meet the following criteria:
- Education: Graduate calibre with supporting CCAB professional qualification.
- Experience: Extensive generalist finance knowledge and expertise across all disciplines.
- Team Player: Strong team player who can collaborate effectively.
- Strategic Thinker: Experience of developing strategies and translating these into deliverable plans.
- Consultancy and Facilitation Skills: Able to communicate clearly, influence others, and gain credibility.
- Systems: Proficient IT skills with the ability to optimise technology for continuous improvement.
We are currently shaping our future workstyles, however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time.
