Junior Technologist, Childrenswear

We are seeking a skilled Junior Technologist, Childrenswear to join our technical team at Fraser Hart. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering efficient technical processes and driving product quality across children's garments and accessories.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Process Management: Ensure adherence to the required sealing process from initial prototype to production sign-off, including critical path adherence and management.
  2. Product Quality Assurance: Ensure all products are effectively managed through the appropriate testing and care/safety labelling requirements, including the management of new fabrics/components and the collection of sustainable credentials.
  3. Quality Assurance Approach: Adopt a Quality Assurance approach to all areas of the role, ensuring that products meet the required quality standards.
  4. Supplier Management: Develop an understanding of the technical capability of suppliers through product assessment, dialogue/processes, and supplier/factory visits.
  5. Risk Assessment: Support the Risk Assessment process to ensure product feasibility, safety, and legality.
  6. Cost-Effective Production: Work with suppliers to understand the most cost-effective production methods to deliver the required quality standards.
  7. Block/Size Requirements: Understand block/size requirements on the relevant category and ensure they are consistently applied across all products (clothing).
  8. Product Development: Drive product forward in terms of fit, construction, and technical performance to meet customer expectations.
  9. Offshore Production Monitoring: Liaise with offices to monitor production offshore.
  10. Education and Experience: Degree educated or equivalent in a recognised textile qualification, with proven experience in childrenswear and/or accessories, as appropriate, and an appreciation of the commercial requirements of trading.
