Job Summary

NRL Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team on a permanent staff basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding and fabrication inspection and be able to develop and improve suppliers' processes to achieve business goals related to procurement supplier quality management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Supplier Performance: Develop and implement metrics and KPIs to measure and improve supplier safety, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Develop Supplier Capability: Empower and manage suppliers through continuous improvement, focusing on data-driven decision making.
  • Maintain Quality Requirements: Stay up-to-date with product requirements and communicate quality initiatives to suppliers.
  • Align with Global Departments: Collaborate with functional departments globally with minimal supervision.
  • Support Supplier Qualification: Conduct supplier qualification activities as defined by global business management system procedures.
Requirements
  • Problem-Solving Methodologies: Understand and apply problem-solving methodologies such as 6 Sigma and 8D, as well as concepts of 5S and Lean.
  • Technical Skills: Possess good PC skills, including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, statistical analysis, and presentation software.
  • Communication Skills: Have good people skills, presentation skills, and ability to train.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Understand core manufacturing and inspection processes such as forging, fabrication, machining, coating, welding, and NDT.
  • Industry Standards: Understand interactions between industry and regulatory standards and customer requirements.
Desirable Qualifications
  • 6 Sigma Certification: Hold a 6 Sigma Greenbelt or equivalent certification.
  • Audit Experience: Understand audit processes related to ISO 9001, 45001, and API Q1 as an auditor and auditee.
