Site Manager Job Description

Our client, a leading construction and civil engineering contractor, is seeking a highly skilled Site Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a construction site in West Sussex, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate site activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Manage site personnel, including labor, plant, and materials, to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and identify potential issues.
  • Develop and implement site-specific safety plans and procedures.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contracts managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of site activities, including progress reports and safety documentation.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications, including NVQ level and SSSTS/SMSTS certification.
  • Proven experience in site management, preferably in the construction and civil engineering sector.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct site personnel.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Proficient in IT systems, including project management software and safety management systems.
