Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Royds Hall Academy. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide high-quality support to teachers and students in the classroom, including lesson planning, delivery, and assessment.
  2. Work with students who have complex communication and interaction needs, using a range of strategies to engage and motivate them.
  3. Lead and manage a team of teaching assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
  4. Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized learning plans, working closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure student progress.
  5. Monitor and evaluate student progress, using data to inform teaching and learning strategies.
  6. Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and deliver curriculum materials, including lesson plans and resources.
  7. Provide support and guidance to students, including pastoral care and mentoring.
  8. Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures, including those related to student behavior and welfare.
  9. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions, staying up-to-date with best practice and developments in education.

Requirements:

  • HLTA status or equivalent
  • Experience of working with secondary students, particularly those with complex communication and interaction needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to the safeguarding of young people
