BEMS Project Engineer Job Description

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a skilled BEMS Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Building Management Systems (BEMS) solutions for our clients.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Design and implement BEMS solutions from specifications and client requirements
  2. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements in the design of BEMS solutions
  3. Develop BEMS points lists for projects
  4. Create operation descriptions for all plant and equipment, including chilled water, air plant, water systems, electrical services, and data suites
  5. Optimize controller selection based on project specifics and commercial targets
  6. Design system topology incorporating BMS controllers and third-party devices, considering design requirements, cyber security, refresh rates, commissionability, quality, costs, and safety
  7. Own the production of panel and field wiring drawings
  8. Manage the technical aspects of panel production and electrical installation
  9. Select field devices based on specifications and commercial targets
  10. Own the BEMS design risk register and associated design processes
  11. Ensure all drawings and documents are shared within the digital engineering environment
  12. Provide technical authority for BEMS solutions throughout the construction phase, including commissioning
  13. Implement smart technologies and DCIM specification requirements
  14. Review and update the digital engineering model to position equipment and mitigate coordination issues
  15. Manage the technical submittals process for contractors and clients
  16. Ensure handover of fully operational BEMS solutions
Requirements
  1. Electrical engineering qualifications (full electrical apprenticeship or equivalent)
  2. Proven track record of delivering BEMS systems, specifically Schneider and Tridium
  3. Exceptional technical knowledge of BEMS
  4. Experience working with BACNET and Modbus
  5. Ability to understand system software and graphics
  6. Valid CSCS or ECS site card
