Job Title: Audit & Accounts Senior

TPF Recruitment is supporting a leading firm of chartered accountants in Poole, Dorset, in their search for an Accounts & Audit Senior. Our client is a dynamic and friendly firm with a strong staff retention rate, excellent training record, and a social working environment.

About the Role

You will work in a general practice capacity across accounts, audit, and tax, with the remit of the position tailored to your experience and aspirations. The role involves circa 20% audit and offers exposure to a range of businesses, primarily owner-managed, from £10m turnover to £50m turnover.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support a diverse portfolio of clients, predominantly owner-managed businesses.
  2. Review year-end accounts prepared by junior team members.
  3. Prepare complex year-end accounts.
  4. Lead audits from planning to completion, liaising with the team and client as needed.
  5. Host and conduct pre-audit and post-audit meetings with clients.
  6. Mentor colleagues, reviewing their work and encouraging prompt and high-quality delivery and service.
  7. Develop and expand the team's skillset through development plans, training, and support.
  8. Contribute to the firm's growth by retaining existing clients and building relationships with prospective clients.
Requirements
  1. ACA / ACCA Qualified, or part-qualified.
  2. Previous experience in year-end accounts preparation, gained within a firm of chartered accountants.
  3. Previous auditing experience, ideally with exposure to leading audits, gained within a firm of chartered accountants.
Benefits
  1. Salary circa £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualification status.
