Importance of this Role

As a Legal Advisor specializing in Competition & Regulatory Affairs, you will deliver legal expertise primarily in competition and regulatory law within the UK and other regions where BT Group operates. Your responsibilities will include providing practical legal guidance, collaborating with the Regulatory Affairs team, and interacting with regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report directly to a Senior/Principal Lawyer while acting as a reliable advisor to the Legal Director.
  • Offer specialized legal counsel on EU & UK Competition & Regulatory legislation.
  • Manage a variety of legal challenges, including advisory and contentious issues, market analyses, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory discussions, and compliance initiatives.
  • Independently provide advice on matters of low to medium complexity and assist in litigation as required.
  • Guide business colleagues on litigation and dispute risks while offering training on legal topics.
  • Contribute to the development of best practice documents and foster collaboration within the Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance teams.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified lawyer
  • 1-4 years of post-qualification experience
  • In-house experience is advantageous but not mandatory
