We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Associate to join our multidisciplinary team in General Practice. As a Nurse Associate, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide care to people of all ages in a busy and diverse practice, contributing to core nursing roles and responsibilities.
- Support registered nurses to allow them to focus on more complex clinical care.
- Undertake competency-based skills, including adult and child immunization, live nasal flu vaccines, and travel vaccines, under a Patient Specific Direction.
- Take ECGs, phlebotomy, and monitor long-term conditions, including QOF-related reviews of complex patients.
- Participate in clinical and non-clinical audit, new patient health checks, and spirometry.
- Chaperone duties and home visits as required.
- Process and manage laboratory samples, vaccine/cold chain storage, and surgical equipment re-stocking.
- Clear and re-stock consulting rooms, prepare and maintain environments and equipment, and assist in the assessment and surveillance of patients' health and wellbeing.
- Support and raise awareness of health and wellbeing, and assist with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and wellbeing.
- Collect blood samples, liaise with and assist members of the nursing team, and maintain an active status on the NMC register.
- Engage in public health, community development, and the reduction of health inequalities, and provide holistic, compassionate, safe, and effective care and support to patients, their families, and service users.
- Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register.
- Nursing Associate Foundation Degree qualification and demonstrable commitment to professional development.
- Understanding and adherence to NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code, and knowledge of own strengths and weaknesses.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure.
- Flexibility to work anti-social hours, shifts, and cover at other practices as required.
