We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Production Operations Leader to become a vital part of our organization.

This position is designed to oversee the management and functioning of the Production, continuous improvement, Warehouse, and ripening teams. The aim is to ensure that all departments comply with Company Health and Safety regulations, operate within established financial constraints, and achieve optimal efficiency regarding materials, labor, and quality standards set by the organization and its clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain the required standards for food safety, legality, and quality throughout the business while promoting a safe working environment for all employees. Exercise strict control over the financial objectives for each operational area. Collaborate with the scheduling team to enhance operational efficiency while managing the company's expenditures. Develop and sustain a highly effective operations team that adheres to the highest industry benchmarks. Contribute to the assessment and advancement of operational strategies and performance alongside the site leadership team. Ensure that all activities align with organizational standards for quality management, health and safety, legal requirements, environmental policies, and overall duty of care. Uphold the highest quality and food safety standards throughout the facility, ensuring that hygiene and housekeeping practices meet the expectations of a quality food manufacturer (GMP). Provide support to a large site-based Operations Team, encompassing Production, Warehousing, and Ripening. Lead on-site projects aimed at fostering business growth and enhancing efficiency. Mentor and guide team members to embody our business values, ensuring a positive workplace culture. Work closely with the site HR team to achieve our people metrics, focusing on absence, recruitment, and turnover rates. Ensure that individual objectives align with the overall Strategic Business Plan for the site and the broader organization, delivering Continuous Improvement Plans in collaboration with the Site Director and direct reports. Monitor budgets and propose enhancements to the Site Director that will lower costs through lean efficiencies and resource planning. Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, processes, and procedures through regular interaction with operations leaders. Set and meet KPIs in accordance with core business values and objectives. Foster a culture that encourages effective, consistent, and efficient practices. Advocate for health & safety, food safety, and GMP standards across the site.

Additional Duties:

What We Seek:

Qualifications in Lean Manufacturing, including Six Sigma and 5S. Experience as a Factory Manager, Production Manager, Operations Manager, or similar role in a large-scale, fast-paced production environment, preferably in Food Manufacturing. NEBOSH general certificate. Project Management qualifications such as PRINCE2 are advantageous. Proven track record in operational management, particularly in achieving results while leading, motivating, and developing teams. Experience in coaching managers to enhance operational performance is highly valued. Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques and their integration into business operations. Ability to cultivate a people-centered culture focused on continuous improvement in manufacturing practices. Self-motivated with a strong ambition, providing significant autonomy and requiring high energy and flexibility. Focused on the diverse needs of stakeholders. Resilient and determined, capable of managing challenges proactively and making informed decisions. Keen attention to quality with extensive knowledge of quality processes and systems.
