Maths Tutor Opportunity at Novus

We are seeking a highly skilled Maths Tutor to join our team at HMP Five Wells. As a Maths Tutor, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality Maths lessons to learners, helping them to secure future employment opportunities.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 37 hours a week. You will be working alongside the Functional Skills Team to deliver Maths lessons to groups of up to 15 learners. Your passion and understanding will help our learners to achieve their goals and develop their individual talents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality Maths lessons to learners
  • Work alongside the Functional Skills Team to support learners
  • Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of learners
  • Assess and provide feedback to learners
  • Contribute to the development of the Maths curriculum
Requirements
  • A full teaching qualification and experience teaching Maths courses
  • Commitment to gain an assessor award required by relevant awarding bodies within one year
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy or be willing to commit to gaining the qualification(s) within 1 year
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a group of learners with a range of abilities
